SAD lamps
on: October 12, 2019, 07:00:35 PM
Now it’s October and the winter is slowly setting in I am in front of mine now which is on my desk.

I only started using them last year to help beat the winter blues, don’t know if it works but can’t do any harm.

Anyone else use one?
My trouble is i never show initiative, but that's only because no one has told me to.

I have a "sunrise" alarm clock, and a large SAD lamp. They were crucial for me in the last couple of years that I was working. The sunrise alarm would slowly illuminate till the radio kicked in, and the main lamp would come on on a separate timer. It really did help me function. I haven't really used either since I stopped working though.

I don't use a SAD lamp, but I love the "sunrise" alarm clocks. Instead of waking up in darkness, turning on the light, and being blinded by said light, my eyes are partially adapted to light already when I wake up. Makes starting the day a lot more comfortable. It's the little things.

Good to hear it worked for you Aimlesswanderer. I have a sunrise alarm clock too.
my sister swore by her SAD lamp when she lived in the uk, but got so fed up with the gloomy dank days she moved to spain.
