Indeed we do . We know who the soldiers daddy is , the one from which they descend. We know .😉
Ha, I was going to say much the same thing. The pioneer predates the alox soldier by a few years.
Annnnnd There's a new wrinkle in my brain!
Love the Rush reference tbh, its the shield. It draws to me. I have an Electrician, brand new. But its the shield. I really enjoy how the soldier/SI shield looks. I hope this doesn't draw a call to arms with all the fine pioneer owners here!
You do know you can have your shield and Pioneer too, right? (Image removed from quote.)
Are you a wizard ?
This is one of my favorite knives. One of my favorite aspects of the Pioneer is its link with the Soldier (I am an old soldier myself, after all). This knife reflects that linkage perfectly, IMHO. I am curious how many Victorinox made back in the day.

Nice Frailer. I have two of these Keyring Soldiers too. A 96 and a 97. What year is yours?Myron
Mine is from 00. I’d really like to know the whole story behind these.
And the sun rises on another day with the greatest knife of all by my side
Cool. Can I have dibs if you ever decide to sell or trade it?
Absolutely.I should, however, confesss that to the best of my recollection I've only sold one knife in the past 50 years.
Ha! Me too, actually. It’s kind of a problem....
I hear you, brother. I hear you. I told myself that I’d stop when my Gerstner chest is full. It isn’t full yet, but the stack of Plano cases behind it are...At least I don’t have to rent a panel truck to move my SAKs around like some folks around here...
Hold on, i am getting a bandaid...(Image removed from quote.)I am thinking about getting a Pioneer as well. I would love the red one (2018 special edition), but i am not sure if i wanna pay extra just to have it in red
It’s up to you if it’s worth it, but I love my 2018. And like all alox, it looks even better with some wear on it.
Of course I ordered the red one. What else
