Please check this thread in the Break Room if you have an old, working machine you'd consider parting with.

Does the fact that you're looking to acquire a laptop have anything to do with your newfound knowledge about defeating Kensington locks? ::) :D

I think the cart is in front of the horse this time...

A good friend of mine needs a laptop, so I was hoping to help him get one as he's going through a really rough time.  His wife died a few days ago.

Then I started thinking about accessories to get him with the laptop, and a Kensington lock came to mind... and I've never used one so I started doing some research into them, which led me to YouTube and videos on how easy it is to beat them!

Depends on the machine, condition, specs etc... if you've got something let me know and we can try and work something out.

I’m considering getting a new laptop and I’m not sure what too do with the old one. It’s an Acer Aspire 5100, almost 2 years old. Has an AMD Turion 64 MK-36 GHz processor and 1 GB RAM. The HDD that’s in it now is on 160 GB and it’s going too be replaced anyway since there is something wrong with it, probably a new 160 GB HDD. I had too replace the fan since the one that was in it broke down. You also have too change the power cord since we use 220 volt instead of 120 volt, that is just fine since there is a fracture in the cable that I have “fixed” temporarily. The condition of it is good for being 2 years old, if you want pic I can send some too you.

If this is something you might consider then PM me. I have not made up my mind yet and don’t know how the economy will look like with moving and all.
