The Delica is a great size.  I bet there are many who still have their first Delicas.  A classic that'll keep doing what it was intended for.

Yes! I can't retire my old Spydies. They are just too good. The only one I've had to give up was my Endura that bit more than it could chew... Little did I know I would be using the same knives for decades. After all, they felt like toys compared to the older generations of folders.

These two, however, are not in my rotation anymore. I never much cared for full Spyderedge, but I got these anyway. Back then I snatched every intetesting knife I came across. Hard to imagine that 25-30 years ago you couldn't just order stuff online, very little was ever imported, and you could only look at pictures in Tactical Knives and Black Belt Magazine  And there were stupid laws in place, prohibiting the sale of automatics, kukris, stilettos, machetes, bayonets and such, so the hunger for blades was there.

I did carry the Police for self defence, after all I lived in Africa, and came a bit too close to using it, too...

Here is one of my very early Spydercos.  I do love Spyderco serrations especially since I'll always have a PE blade on me.

:2tu:  Sydercos CPMS30V is terrific.  I love how well the Native fits my hand.  Its a very good knife and one I'd imagine Spyderco lovers have in their collection.

Excellent toys, peoples!   :hatsoff:

Native Chief

I've been waiting a long time for a Native Chief Lightweight to be released in yellow or blue.  They are on the horizon.  But Mr. Sal doesn't want my money enough to actually make them yet.

Native Chief in CPM S90V and carbon fiber.  Factory second, but I have yet to figure out why.

Very nice.  May I ask where you find factory seconds?  I'm not nearly as picky and have found seconds to be quite satisfactory in most cases.

I get them on the ‘bay.  I believe Spyderco only sells them in their factory store, but there are a few ebay sellers who live close enough and make a little business of it.

I agree that most of the time, factory seconds either have no issues that I can find or only minor cosmetic flaws.  So if you’re OK with no warranty and no box, you can get decent users for a fraction of the price of new first quality.

I got a Delica recently for the Combo Edge Challenge going on this month. My first Delica. I'm pretty impressed with it.

:iagree: The Delica is an excellent knife.  I like the older model Spyderco knives like the Delica best.

I bought two very old other knives from this knife store. Whilst there they showed me an interesting early Spyderco. Hope you find it interesting.

The pics are of a C22CF numbered production Spyderco, Michael Walker, HP Klotzli collaboration.
From the early 90's.
First production carbon fiber handle.
First production nested Walker-linerlock.
First production colored titanium.
Only Swiss made production Spyderco.
Custom made phosphure bronze pivot.
The Carbon fiber came from the Sauber F1 race team.
The knife was built for Spyderco by HP Klotzli.

Spydersource.com in part says …
This is the first knife designed for Spyderco by the famous knifemaker Michael Walker, inventor of the liner lock. This unique Spyderco has the distinction of being Swiss Made, in the same factory that produces the very well-made Klotzli Knives, of which many are also designed by Michael Walker. This knife came in three different handle versions, with the non Carbon Fiber later versions all made in Seki City Japan.

Pacu’s post reminded me that I got a new Endura (Thin Red Line version) for the Combo Edge challenge, which I neglected to post in this thread.

So far I got an orange Dragonfly 2, Delica thin blue line combo edge, and a Rockjumper wharnie blade.
