What's the deal with the bird? Is that a symbol for magic winters?

Just what the world needs.... yet another LE/SE of just a regular production line model with fancy scales sold by an absurd amount...  :bnghd:

They sure milk the "collector" side of things pretty good...

Just so long as they have rigged the parcel hook up with a special mechanism that can launch the shuriken at deadly speed I’ll be in. Always wanted a festive ninja SAK and glad to see Victorinox addressing this market segment.

A bit more generic winter design so as not to scare away non-Christmas-fans? The Explorer from 2017 was not very Christmasy either IMHO.

:iagree: You are probably right.
But why not just to release another model for non-Christmas-fans and retain the series of SAKs with Christmas design (as it was released already before, anyway)?   :dunno: (I don't understand the way of the marketing people thinking. )

I always thought calling it the Christmas series was a misnomer anyways because they all have looked more like "winter" designs to me. This is not an attack on Christmas changing the name just finally getting the name to more accurately match the designs

I like it well enough and since I have the other Special Editions, I must buy this for the set.
I do like the gold accents on the white scale.  Maybe the box will be decorated nicely.  :dunno:

All I can say is that I'm about as anti-Christmas as you get,and I rather like it!

Whether I'd buy one is another question all together...

Had to look shuriken up, and had a good laugh when I saw what it meant - nice one!! Not a knife that particularly appeals i5 has to be said - fox tail and cardinal bird? Doesn’t really say Xmas Euro-style..... :dunno:

My take is that it is Christmas release. With a Winter scene that is released each year for holiday sales.

In the states IIRC, Target Stores have few each at every store.

My wife likes it so I will buy her one. I don't care for it so I won't get myself one. I don't have to like every special edition that is released and I don't have to buy every one that is released. Some will like it, some will not.

Well I kinda liked the 'Christmas' theme - But do agree that it is more of (or at least equally)  a Winter scene than explicitly Christmas
Although all those so called 'Winter' scenes are typically associated with Christmas

However I am not sure I can agree with this being a Winter Edition - It's b1oody Summertime over here   :pok:    :o    :D

Anyway I rather like this design - But looking around it seems to be pretty expensive - $100au, $60us, €60

Seems a lot and I'm pretty sure that others were roughly €40 - (Eg Explorer - Or is my memory wrong?
I guess you are paying for the shuriken ;)

AFAIK, the MSRP Price for Explorer White Christmas 2017 was CHF 55 (about  $56 USD); but I have got Climber White Christmas 2015 for $32,99 USD. ;)

I guess you are paying for the shuriken ;)
Indeed.

Don't get why it's $60. The scales are just printed, and the small star charm shouldn't add that much to it.  Swiss Knife Shop's special scales, Wounded Warrior, and Gadsden were never at much of a premium.

Looks neat, but I'm not paying nearly double.
