First experience with Leatherman Warranty
on: November 03, 2019, 10:10:46 PM
I have owned Leatherman tools for at least 8 years. I bought a Crater C33T  knife over 6 years ago and it immediately became my EDC. Recently I just couldn't get the blade sharp anymore....it just would not hold an edge. I called Leatherman and they told me it was covered by the 25 year warranty. I sent it in and 1 week from the day they received my knife I
got an email from Leatherman saying my knife was on its way back to me. A few days later I received a package and they had shipped me a brand new Crater C33TX. I have to say I am very impressed and pleased. I would have been happy if they had just replaced the blade. Makes me proud to be a Leatherman customer.

They really have great customer service. I've been pleased to deal with them in the past.

I did something stupid, I cut into a 230V live cable. Big boom, lights went off, big ding on my Wave blade.
I contacted Leathermans distributor here, where I live. They changed the whole tool on the spot with a refurbished one. I only had to pay a very small service fee ~5$.

I would've been happy to pay more just to have the blade replaced. The old tool was missing the small screwdriver bit, the file was worn off as was the serrated blade.
So for 5$ I've got a shiny new tool. Great deal.

thank you all for the welcome.
I was "lucky" I cut into the the live wire and the neutral at the same time so I didn't got electrocuted.
I was cutting some tie wraps around the cable so I blame Leatherman for making such sharp blades  :D.

Ah yes. Be careful with the wires. I get into those situations alot since alot of our wires are held up by zipties. If we need to replace one of the wiree, we have to cut the ziptie. Not always the easiest thing to do.

Glad LM took care of you  :tu:

I use my Leatheman to remove Zipties quite frequently, but I never use my knife during removal.  I use the needle nose pliers to pinch the width of the Ziptie strap into a small point which weakens it and then twist my wrist to break the Ziptie free.  Works very fast once you get the technique down.

I love hearing these stories. Avid knife collector myself, have dozens of Leatherman's. Every time I do something stupid (voltage sensor was wrong, similar experience to earlier commenter) they have always been amazing! Fast and excellent service. Love hearing these things about their brand!

 :iagree:

Warranty and customer service are the top reasons I'll always own Leatherman tools.  They have been top rated in those aspects for me as well.
