Well, the first EP is out, and I'm impressed, they need this.

my only issue now is waiting on episodes...

Without going into details, it's way more than I had hoped for, and I've only seen one episode.

So many questions...

I have just finished watching it, and I concur entirely with Micah.

Unlike the other Disney produced Star Wars... things.... I have to say that it actually seems like someone took the time to watch the originals prior to doing The Mandalorian, which I guess should come as no surprise coming from Jon Favreau.

Maybe, just maybe Disney isn't going to completely ruin the franchise after all.

They have officially stated he is not Boba.

Filoni and Favreau are both fans and seem to understand what we expect. They did some great stuff in cartoons,  and now this... bring on Friday!

It's space western, like you would expect. No softening down, harsh realities of life out in the open.

Spoiler for the prequel movies:

Show content
Question, I thought Boba was "born" at the same time as the clone troopers.
I presume this show takes place before that event?

Boba was one of Jango Fetts clones that he raised himself I believe, so it should be long before their time.

Disney+, their streaming service.

Filoni is Lucas' last apprentice, and Favreau is a long time fan who studied the art form from many masters. There were one or two spots where visually it was microscopically off, but those were CGI glitches. I was looking for them. And considering that they did the equivalent of an hour long episode, sans commercials, or a third of an theatre release movie that's impressive. The model work is exquisite, we've not seen it's like in over a decade. Expect the acting, particularly for he guest actors, to be excellent because so many people have said "I'll do something in Star Wars, I'll do it for guild pay- hell, I"ll pay myself guild pay to have a Star Wars credit" for so long that only decent actors who WANT this are going to be here.

I did read one whinea** little punk's review where he claimed he was being pandered to. I'm sorry, I was immersed for 40 minutes and at the end, I didn't want to leave. I wanted to find out if the KFK smelt as good as I thought it would. I just wanted to go.

If it‘s Disney+ only i am not gonna see it. Maybe they will bring it on DVD once the season is over.

Boba was a clone, yes, but he did not have the accelerated growth of the clones. Thus his longer life.

I watched it again last night, and will probably go for another viewing during supper

Watched the 2nd episode, it does seem to have that something special the new Star Wars was missing.  :salute:

There's a "documentary" about the Mandalorians on Youtube

Careful with the mockumentaries. I think I've seen all of them- some of them are very, very selective about what they include. Without spitting in anyone's soup, if you include EVERY scrap of Legends, and then dismiss the new cannon, all you'll do is find things to *itch about and I'm tired of people who make Star Wars tiresome. Its like listening to partisans in a religous schism.

The Mandelorian is roughly 9 ABY (five years after Battle of Endor Ep.6)

This is a serious question:

How do you manage to live life, work, make money, have relationships etc etc etc.........and have the time and energy to so fully immerse yourself in a "franchise" to the extent you can punch holes in the timeline/continuity?

Same goes for people that learn to speak Klingon for example.......I just don't get how you do it

I am trying to understand a bit of who or what is being discussed?

Are these the two characters in fancy knight armor in the newer Bud Light commercials?

Disney needed a show like this
