Polar vs Garmin Vs Suunto sports watch

I know Garmin is considered the best for most people, but I've heard some pretty good things about Polar lately. Has anyone tried more than one brand? The Polar Ignite seems really tempting with it's advanced nightly recharge function and sleek look, all at an attractive price.

Not after anything too fancy, just trying to pick something up with a good price to performance ratio. Obviously accuracy is more important than the bells and whistles.

Bit late to the party here.

Suunto or Garmin are better.

I dropped a Suunto traverse alpha in favour of the Garmin instinct tactical. It's a much better watch.

Late as well to answer original needs.. Polar is great and popular with fitness and athlets. Suunto with hikers and outdoors. I think all are great with a bit different angle. I have garmin at the moment. Garmin and Suunto have a bit robust models with 10atm water resistant. Where Polar is enough for swimming. Anyway with all you can miss some others have but new models like ignite has quite much all and more you need to track basic sports and activity.

I picked up a tomtom watch cheap.
Worked fine but the battery life became an issue as my miles increased.
Up near the top on my wants list is a Coros Apex Pro.
