Gerber Parts Compatability

Are older Gerber (MP without the black sliders) parts interchangeable with the newer style with the black Sliders? Im looking for Simonds files and they all for the most part seem to be on the old Original Gerber MP.

I think that with a little modification for the lock they should be compatible. You could also look for the older MP600 with locks that have the Simmons file.
