Need a Wave + Fix

So I am now on my second BO Wave Plus. It seems that the upgraded configuration of the pliers is tight and is quickly wearing the BO coating off of the plier pivots. Would it be okay to slight girl down the insides of the handles where the pliers are rubbing?  Has anyone else experienced this issue?  It never happened with my regular Wave.

Common on both the Wave and Charge +   as you can see on mine. I think is was also common on the Regular BO Wave.

Any ideas on what I could do about this?  I like the worn out look but this takes the coating off all together.
