The Upknife
on: December 05, 2019, 02:24:33 PM
Yea....I didn't buy this I admit...I could never afford a $400 knife Multitool. And I have seriously mixed feelings about it. The quality is phenomenal, but it requires 1lbs of force to deploy the knife  :o. So, for the sake of showing ppl I think it's cool to know that this exists.

Cheers.

I don’t think I could part with $400 for any tool. Even if I had that type of money available. It is interesting thou. Thanks for sharing.  :tu:

Definitely an interesting design. $400 period is rather expensive. That puts it squarely within such customs (if not a little more than) many Randall, Ruana, and other high-end, custom and semi-custom knives. More than double what the Boye Boat Knife that's at the top of my list right now costs.

Yep, as I said...super up there on price. I'd never have had one if they didn't send it for review.

You could buy a whole toolbox for $400
I knew my wife was a keeper when she transitioned from calling it a knife thingy to a multi-tool.

Yep, a looot. The process he chose to make this is super labor intensive. But that's not my issue. The combination of having 1lbs of deploy force, slick handle, and smoothed slider button means you can only consistently deploy it in ideal conditions. If your hands are sweaty forget about it....
