Saw looks a little short for the size of the tool, but very cool.  I love that manufacturers are pushing into plierless multitools.

What is the intended use for the hook?   A package carrier, as in the SAK hook?

From the shape of it, maybe to lift pots off of camp fires?

I like the look of this one better than the Armbar, except for the carabineer.

What would be good if there was a pot lifter. See a lot of those on Amazon. Would save newbies from burning their fingers. Looks like the hook was a last minute addition. If you add it, someone will find a use for it.

A tool where a can opener actually makes sense that doesn't have one

Looks too thick for the tools it has. Seems like they didn't think it through long enough...

 ??? ???

Just got my Gerber Stake Out yesterday.  REI seems to be the only place you can buy it as of right now.  Gerber's website last I checked doesn't even have the tool in stock.
Gerber advertises the hook as a tent stake puller. The hook is a little odd but as this is a camping multitool it makes sense.  The scissors are blunt tipped but seem to cut through paracord fairly well.  The knife is the only locking implement.  The file is mounted to the side of the tool which is another different design.  The inside tools are the saw which cuts better than I expected.  The awl is pretty big for the small tool but it also double as a ferro rod striker. The carbineer includes the bottle opener as well.
The pictures posted at the beginning of this thread are far better than those I could take.  I think the tool has its place.  I am sure the Stake Out will have its fair share of haters but it is a pretty descent tool overall.

HVAC - when you get a minute could you measure the thickness of the tool?

That’s a big tool…..not exactly what she said, but I feel I’m better off with a SAK Huntsman(?) or Farmer X with the same measurements

But cheers to Gerber for daring to try out new stuff! What’s the worse that can happen? Get it copied by TrueUtility or SwissTech or Nextool?
