Anyone here trying the SwissQlip?

Indiegogo project for a pocket clip for 91mm SAKs.  Search SwissQlip for more info...

Anyway, they are shipping now and a few people are commenting that they got theirs and they won’t fit!!!  Screws too big for keyring nub.

Also saying hole on clip not properly  aligning with keyring nub.

Just wondered if anyone here had tried one.??

I saw those a while back. Was a neat idea but in the end I decided it was too bulky. The solution I have now works perfect for me, so no need to get one of these  :hatsoff:

Good idea, but looks way too clunky and heavy.  I'll stick with swivel off an old keychain flashlight, and clip from cheap pocket watch.

It looks interesting and would be a nice addition to some SAK's.

I can't see it attached to a Swiss Champ.lol

Mine came today. Good and bad news, I’m afraid.

It seems, it only fits the newer 91mm models with the keyring nub located next to the front scale...

It will not fit older 91mm models with the keyring nub located closer to the backside scale...

I see that I didn’t have the Explorer fully seated in my pocket...

Nope. They say they plan to try to build them for 93mm and 111mm.

For now they only fit 91mm...newer ones.

The video shows the original design. They actually redid it for the deep carry you see in my pics.

Also offered in chrome or whatever...shiny. lol

How is the change in ergonomics after they are mounted? Looks pretty uncomfortable to use the SAK now

I’ll have to get back to you on that.   I actually took it back off my Explorer and stuck in a drawer. Not been carrying anything but my Ambassador lately.  I pair it with my Benchmade AFO II.

Seems like a nice simple straightforward design.  I carry my Explorer in a Skinth tho.

Sorry to say that, but judging from the pictures the P-7 (or similar clips) looks like a far superior solution to the same problem: more discreet on the outside of the pocket, less bulky, not impeding the handling of the SAK proper. And it is compatible with all models to boot.

I've been using a shiny chrome clip for over a week now, I'm really liking it and will do a YouTube video on it.
Pros:
- Nicelly made, great fit and finish.
- Well thought out.
- Will do deep carry on most trousers.
- Now I don't worry about my Huntsman falling from the pocket when I'm on my bike.

Cons:
- Not cheap.
- Will only fit 91mm knives.
- Will only fit newer 91mm knives, so the Climber I wear at home will have to stay with the lanyard and bead.
- OK, it makes access to the tweezers difficult, as we need to use something like the toothpick to "fish" them out.

That said, I'm loving it!

I must admit I'm puzzled by the American obsession with pocket clips.

I bought one, but unfortunately didn't fit the older spartan I wanted to mount it on. There's a pay it forward GAW thread somewhere on the forum that I have it up for grabs on.

Agreed, I love it for my Explorer but sadly it will not work on my Compact due to how thick the scissor layer is compared to the opener layer.

As to P7 clip vs this: Depends on what kinda pockets you have and how often you want quicker access to your knife. I love the P7 on my Pioneer X and S18 but it takes an extra moment to pull it out of the pocket and orient the knife in my hand.

The most glaring issue I have with it is that the Qlip costs more than all of the knives I have mounted it on. Which is just crazy.

Honestly the only reason I have two of them is because I got them for a steal when the backing campaign opened. Otherwise I would have to think long and hard about getting even one.
