Featuring SOG's new assisted XR lock, the new Aegis AT is a great folding knife for the outdoors. The CRYO D2 steel blade (titanium nitride finish) should be good for outdoor use, and I like the GRN handle. There's a pocket clip with a modest SOG logo. The knife feels nice in my hand, and I can easily see myself taking this to camp, or out fishing. I like that there are some brighter colours, as I'll never understand why I'd want to take a camouflage or dark coloured knife out in the woods. I like to make sure my knives come home with me after the trip ;)

We're looking forward to reviewing this one. And after holding it for a short while, I can tell you that I'll be picking one up for my own use.

If a maker has a yellow or orange option, I always choose that one. A: camo patterns are a form of hydro-dip wrap, and they start wearing the first day in your pocket. B: they blend into EVERYTHING! Now, I don't mind sheaths/pouches being camo, and I have them in various military and hunting camo patterns. My heavy-duty LMs are carried in Realtree sheaths.

I'm really liking this one as well. D2, in my mind, is perfect for a work knife. Blade looks beefy. Handle is pretty chunky, meaning good with gloves. And, ambidextrous use of the lock. I carry my Benchmade Mini-Grip on my left side (I'm left-handed).

The blade and handle shapes are sweet on this one.
