Hammers

I know they don't cut, but does anyone else really like hammers too?
The other day i realized I have like 15 claw hammers and a half dozen ball-peins. Probably another 5 sledges and a couple mauls.
Oh, 4 or 5 axes too.
This is what I use at work.

I like old ones.
That goes for most tools actually.

Never seen anything like them before, cool!
It's hard to tell the size of them. How long are they?

Those are really cool.
I have a few old Ball-peins. I had an entire set of antuque auto body hammers but my brother "borrowed" them and I haven't seen them since.
I need to get out to the flea market and find some more old tools.
We don't really need any more though
I think I like hammers because I like to beat things with them Great stress relief.

If its got to the stage I have to beat something with a hammer, I've normally gone badly wrong and am feeling very stressed
Nice to know I'm not the only one with a tool
borrowing
brother. For his birthday this month I've bought him his
own
security bit set

i used a vaughn 20oz framing hammer for years until one day it went missing while building my home. it was the best size to weight ratio for form carpentry. everybody else use to carry those 28oz estwings.
i think that those 28oz estwings are the worst hammer ever produced (i have 2 of them) and most framers don't use them anymore. i have a 23oz wood handle vaughn with a head the size of a pancake that i like but i rarely us it now.
i like the 16oz plumb hammers the most. i've gone through 3 of them in the past 2 years. not because i wear them out but because i think others like them too.
30 yeas ago, or there about, the old timers around here use to use a hammer called "rocket" i think. i would love to get ahold of one of those.

Those two little hammers are now back in regular use, assisting with knife construction. Not what they were designed for but I like using them.
Anyone know where I can get a small hammer with a fine milled surface? Obviously in the UK would be great but I'm petty desperate so am willing to purchase from anywhere.

I have my Dad's ball pien hammer that he had when he was an apprentice. That was around 60 years ago. He replaced the handle 4 times and the head twice. I have replaced the handle once and the head once.
I believe I'll pass it on to my son when he's old enough. That's one tough old hammer. It could last forever.
I know. That's an old joke but I still get a kick out of it.
