Day 25

Tightened a loose door handle...

...only to find out it was assembled and installed improperly, so had to disassemble it, file a part a little with a metal file, clean, lubricate and assemble it back

Day 26

We decided to spend a few days in nature, so Work Champ helped to start a fire

Now that looks like fun.

I use the spine of the saw or the edge of the awl to strike the ferro rod ... depending on my mood.

Looks like a fun trip, I always use the spine of saw(near the base) for ferro rod, or if the saw is not available, I'd pre-mod the bottle opener a little bit with a dremel before the trip, just for ferro rod use.

Yeah, I don’t even carry a lighter or matches with me anymore- it’s either firesteel and a back of the saw or a JetBoil if I’m really on a hike

No uses so far, so a quick beauty pic by the fire.
P.S.: more of those coming as soon as I get back to my Mac and make them look right

if you change the orientation and size of this sort of picture it would be in some sort of calendar, I'm sure.

I might have just the photo you have in mind, but I’d like to edit it on a computer as soon as we get back home tomorrow

Day 27

Work Champ cut open a Victorinox sharpener to get his brother Forester back in shape. It took me like 1-2 minutes to make it razor sharp again. Will keep this sharpener in my toiletries bag alongside a tiny bottle of Victorinox multi tool oil

P.S.: it really seems to me that I have a some sort of lemon on Forester in terms of blade edge retention- both Work Champ and Forester were razor sharp and I used Work Champ to cut wood, while my lady used Forester to cut meat. After approximately the same amount of usage Forester becomes noticeably dull, while Work Champ still shaves. It even appears from time to time that Forester stops being razor sharp after no use for some time just laying in a sheath. Really weird, though that’s just the way it is

Day 28

Warning: always turn off the electricity before attempting any electrical repairs

It was an old one - one of the bathroom lightbulbs started to burn out too soon, so I had to check it out. The inspection seems to point to the malfunctioning lightbulb socket, so I went to buy a new one and engaged Work Champ

First the large Phillips screwdriver was used to loosen the entire lamp allowing the access the the rear screw that held the light socket in place

Then the small Phillips was used to remove the malfunctioning socket

And pliers were used to cut the wires

It turns out that the replacement I was able to find and buy is a tad different from the original and a piece of plastic would get in the way and won't let the socket holder get properly screwed to the new socket - no worries, file to the rescue

Checked that now it holds firmly

So pliers again for crimping a stripped wire

And it's bright enough for shaving with a double edged razor again

And now I found myself stuck at thinking how is that even possible to start a 30 day challenge on May 1st and not finish it by June 1st?... the answer is simple if you figure out you messed the counting twice, having duplicate entries for days 19 and 26

Anyway, I’ll bear this to an extended end

So here comes the late but final

Day 30

I’ll have this beauty pic here just in case, but will add later if I’ll actually use the Work Champ today

Hope you guys enjoyed the challenge as much as I did even despite it took two extra days

It was fun to follow along.  I'm doing a similar sort of experiment right now in my challenge.  I'm still thinking of hosting a 111mm challenge next year, hopefully in a month when participants can get out to hike or camp,,, just to spice up the challenge.
