Before I got the surge, I was putting laminate floors in a rm of my house. On the last row, you are against the wall. You have to lift the planks and pull them back to interlock them. The only tool I could think of that would possibly work, was the gut hook on the charge that was on my hip. It was a life saver. I knew when I bought the surge, I would have to mod it. It's awesome now.

I am a big fan of BO tools and DLC coated knives, I even prefer the less hard wearing coatings like on my all black tenacious over shiny steel.
I like tools that show honest wear. It baffles me when on occasion I have read reviews for BO tools and coated blades where people put showing honest wear as a con of said tools, for me it’s a definite pro :tu:
My trouble is i never show initiative, but that's only because no one has told me to.

I have a black oxide Leatherman OHT and Gerber MP600, but I prefer a brighter stainless steel finish instead.  The black color makes it more difficult to locate the blade I want when in low light conditions.

I have read people complain that it marks to easy, but others say the mark on the blade is what ever you cut and with a good scrub the blade comes up clean again.
here Is one of my spydercos that is still like new as I have not pressed it in to service yet, but when I do the blade marking will not bother me in the slightest.

You need a leatherman wave, you can find the blade of choice wearing a blindfold, even more so if you have a pocket clip fitted. :pok:

Speaking of cleaning, what is safe to clean the BO blade with? I used alcohol and I’m not sure that’s a good idea.

I like them but only for aesthetics.  My Gerber MP600 is BO.  (I need to post a picture one of these days)

If I found a BO Wave I'd probably have bought it before I got the SS one... now I couldn't justify the cost just to have a second one in BO.

But I'm glad that I have the SS Wave since I've used it for food prep extensively - I would be nervous about the coating getting into my food.

I really like the look of the Victorinox Spirit SBX, and my friends here at MTo would advise that I carry a secondary blade in case of emergency food prep.  What has stopped me from getting the Spirit SBX is the cap crimper, which makes the pliers less useful for me (weaker and less surface area on that portion)

I love the look of any SHINY SS MT
I love the smooooothnes of highly polished SS!

 :iagree:

BO never did much for me, and I certainly don't need it from a stealth/tactical standpoint, so shiny it is.

Thanks mate,

mpgt, I use alcohol on my blades too as it makes short work of the sticky residue left by sticky tape when opening boxes. Which soap and water would do little to shift and I would have thought would probably do more damage from the amount of scrubbing it would take.

But I am no expert.
