:iagree:   And, aside from ruining a perfectly good hat, he is quite charming and likable.   :tu:
That is an Akubra Sombrero. It’s their largest brim and comes with an open crown to put your own bash in it. They come with a hair cowhide hatband from the factory.
His original hat is in the Australian Museum with some other gear he used.

They make some nice hats. I'm not sure the 'Sombrero' is available in the USA.

I kinda like the look of their 'Territory' model.

A bit of parang work in #6.

In episode #7 we see a little more Stockman (?) action. And a bit of axe work, too.

Sounds like a Nessmuk trio.......Axe, Puma, and Stockman......  :dunno:

Malcolm Douglas had a great show as well. Really liked his bush cooking style.   :tu:

Yes, I've watched a couple episodes. I love the way he throws together some bread or an Australian 'Damper'. He clearly has some experience and times his fire bakes really well. I've tried that in a Dutch oven and haven't done nearly as well.

With a name like 'Malcolm Douglas' I suspect that he's one of Fuzzy's long-lost feral uncles.......

He used something that looked like a Puma folder in one episode.

Interesting. I will have to see if I can see what the folder was. I remember him using a small fixed blade once of some nondescript type, to make a spear iirc.

In episode #3 (from youtube) he uses a small folder for a few tasks. Might be a Griptilian or Barrage (?). Looks a bit like a Benchmade, but could be a copy.

Also a bit of axe work, but the axe looks like it could use some TLC.

Now I want to go spear fishing........

His Puma Bowie from the North Queensland coastline episode.
Bashing on the end of it with a rock to get some oysters. Not the way to treat a $300 collectable.
Maybe that’s why he uses the White Hunter now.

Les is a fun guy, and clearly knowledgable, but his knife use leaves a bit to be desired.

I can only imagine that he has learned to sharpen very well....through frequent practice.....

(Still, great show.)
