Bladeless Wave - What are my options?
on: September 03, 2020, 12:21:01 PM
I would like to build a bladeless wave, and need some help to come up with tools to replace the two blades. I know Metro did a scalpel holder for the wave, so that would work for one slot. Just leave the scalpel at home when I want to go bladeless.

What about the second slot though? Would the scissors from a Surge fit in? Any other tools that you can think of?

Thanks!

The surge scissors won't fit (too long). I know some have managed to fit Victorinox scissors (requires a lot of work) or WIngman scissors (maybe easier) in the Wave/Charge. Or you could just have two scalpel holders with different blades.

Darn it on the Surge scissors. That would have been awesome  :D The Wingman scissors are just as bad as the small ones the Wave already has, so I was hoping to add the big ones.

Two scalpel holders seems overkill, never needed two different blades on an MT. Are there parts from other LMs that could fit in there? Wood saw maybe?

I don't think it would be that hard to fit Vic scissors.

I think with the vic 93mm scissors all you have to do is drill the pivot hole to the proper size and a minor reprofile to the tang.

Actually it's a pretty easy mod to do, the 91mm Vic scissors are almost a drop in.

I can't seem to find where a member added a file to the exterior.

I did.. I had added a OG supertool file to the exterior... Various "real" file to a surge outside slots also. Unfortunately I can't find any thin enough to fit a wave yet. A longer pry tool is another option also.
