Aloha, everyone. I just joined last week and want to introduce myself. I recently retired from the rail industry in the San Francisco Bay Area. Worked the last twenty years of my career in commuter rail. Ended up managing the operations and transportation training department. Fun job and worked with an awesome staff. After retirement, wife and I moved back to Hawai’i for family reasons. I have been visiting this site for many years and decided to finally join. Looks to be a fun and informative place to hang out. Getting back to relaxing; playing music and more importantly, fishing again. I carried multi tools throughout my career, starting with a Leatherman PST in the 80s. Traded that after a few years for a Super Tool, loved that. That gave way to a Victorinox Spirit. Carried that everyday in an old Nite I’ve Pock-Its along with Mini Maglite that was upgraded many times over the years. I don’t carry it on my person everyday now, but it lives in glove box of my vehicle. Thanks and I hope to participate regularly.

Welcome rockysan,

Hawaii is a special place for me. Was married on Maui in 2000 on the beach and had an amazing honeymoon at the Grand Wailea.

Fun fact, if you dropped through the center of the earth from Hawaii and kept going, you’ll pop out where I live. And while it’s midnight here (and I should be sleeping), you’re probably enjoying a Mai Ta with lunch.

We still have a ceramic humuhumunukunukuāpuaʻa hanging in our lounge.  :salute:

Well, come on back. If you do come to O’ahu, we’re on the west side. You’ll find us most weekday mornings playing music, singing and dancing hula in Ko Olina.
