Agreed. Just circling around my significant other. She is still in ICU but improving day by day. I will probably try to replace the motherboard first.

Well...my significant other has been home since last Wednesday from the hospital. I almost lost her at the start of September from Diabetic Keto Acidosis. We nerver found out what infection caused her decline since June. Happy to say she made it through that but did lose a niece and older sister while she was in the hospital. It was a bad time for her family. I am now thinking of getting my computer up and running again. I think I will buy another motherboard and see if that is the issue. I am quite happy that I bought my little BeeLink mini PC for retro gaming. It has been my main PC since mid August. I have gained respect for this little guy over time. I haven't been able to play many AAA titles as it only features built in graphics...but it plays Counter Stike 2 with no issues, along with much of my other go to games such as Zero K.

So with that said, I can start to focus on my computer build and hope to have it running in the near future. Well that is the plan at least.

Much appreciated. She is working on it. One of the toughest and stubborn people I know.

I both really miss my desktop (sitting in Spain) and am a bit frustrated with my laptop... as even with 32gb ram in it, and a decent i7 chip, Nvidia GTX 1650, it's far too noisy and has absolutely poor battery life.

While building a decent budget gaming system might be fun, I'm now considering something reasonably cheap with good battery that could run Geforce Now if only our internet connection was better... savings on not needing gaming hardware would more than cover the cloud service fees.

Also been looking at replacing our 24inch Samsung screen with a QHD 27inch curved gaming screen...

Just got another motherboard in. All I need is time to replace the motherboard.

Watching a lot of jay2cent builds and similar on YouTube

Building isn't what it used to be anymore.

It's clear it's more about unboxing than actual necessity. And I'm guessing most people don't need the horsepower they are installing to really do what they do on a daily basis

I mostly hate on new computer builds that those are full of RGB lights and thats seems to be most important part of it and everything else is secondary doing. For my self i try keep everything clean and unnoticeable as possible cause i feel pc doesnt need to be seen so much.

Completely, any builds I do go ahead with will be RGB free, besides, isn't power expensive enough without extra truly unnecessary lighting?

build checklist:
  • no RGB
  • quiet operation
  • function over appearance

Thats what i expect to computer to be, like all other things like tools, clothes and other. I really appreciate to stuff be more functional than estethic, its bonus if it looks good but not necessity.
