One of my recent acquisitions is a Benchmade 550 Griptilian. I really like this knife and I plan to give it a ton of pocket time with my much loved Huntsman. I have been looking at some of the scales that are offered for this knife and would love to have something that makes the knife uniquely mine. Is anyone here gifted at making custom knife scales?

I have a few ideas I have been batting around but would be open to suggestions.

I found the aftermarket ones a bit expensive so I have started my own scale project, but it takes time with handtools (files,hacksaw and drill). And I have to figure out how to fit the liners for the axis lock. I'm definitely not taking on a project for anyone else now.
If you feel confident in tool use you could try and make a set yourself :tu:

There are some custom scale makers on Etsy. Maybe scales for that particular knife too?

Def - That was from back before I got divorced. A divorce means that a lady that no longer likes you takes your house with the garage workshop and for the trouble, you get to pay to see your kids. LOL

I miss having a workshop. I talked to my friend in Arizona and after I move, I am going to try getting a place with a workshop or garage. I want to get back to modding. He and I are wanting to start doing gun builds (ARs and 1911s) as well and knives and mods. If you end up moving to Arizona too, we will have to have you come down for some weekend workshop fun!
