My Stayglow Rescue Tool
on: February 10, 2020, 05:01:32 AM
This one rides in the center console in my pickup, and is one of those things you like to own but hope you never need.  In hindsight, considering I keep it in its sheath and inside a storage compartment...  she sure isn't going to be glowing when I pull it out to use it   :P  Ah well.  I had thought about leaving it sit out somewhere within reach, where it would get sunlight, but worried about the heat doing a number on it in the middle of summer.  The stayglow scales are neat color regardless of their ability to glow anyway.

They say the pen is mightier than the sword.   However... there is a dead guy here with a Bic in his hand and a Samurai walking away.

After looking at your Rescue tool Craftman, I believe the Stayglo is defective .  Send the tool to me ASAP and I will put it thru a thorough test cycle.

Nice rescue tool. A good thing to have in the truck. I hope you never need to use it.

Congrats on the badge!

I'm still thinking about getting one of the "civilian" variant made for the Italian State Police. It is more like my Fireman, while having some features ready for "when can go wrong is going wrong".  A shame Victorinox never updated the Fireman to have the Rescue Tool serrated blade, without all the window punch/glass cutter things on it. PE OH blade plus the Rescue Tool serrated blade (both very glove-friendly, which my Fireman is a two-hand open version; and the Fireman used the 108mm gutting blade) would be perfect for the outdoors and farm work stuff I do with the Fireman.
