1975 Soldier in excellent shape
on: February 27, 2020, 06:58:39 PM
Mail call!   :woohoo:
I was able to get my hands on my birth year (1975) '61 model Soldier.  Doesn't look as though it ever saw any use, and it won't now that it is in my collection!   I had my first two ALOX's show up today and this was one of them.  I love the feel of this knife and I am now on the hunt for a Farmer to put to use in my EDC rotation.   It is really cool to hold something that is the same age as you and think about where it may have spent all that time while you made your way through life's journeys....

Don't know if you're being serious or just kidding, but I'm going to answer anyway... :D

That Soldier looks like the real deal to me  :tu:.

And I agree that it's a great feeling to own your Birth Year SAK, holding my '77 Soldier in my hands for the first time was a very memorable moment  :SAKnight:.

Thanks!  I read into that too much I guess.   I saw the word 'copy' and thought "oh man, I bought a knockoff?!  What am I missing here?"  LOL

Congratulations on finding your Birthyear SAK CraftsmanSAK  :drink:

Very nice and clean specimen there  :like:
It must be one of the very first with the VICTORINOX SWITZERLAND STAINLESS ROSTFREI tang stamp. Cool  :tu:

From here I get that in...
1976 Victorinox changed the tang stamp from ELSENER SCHWYZ VICTORIA to VICTORINOX SWITZERLAND STAINLESS ROSTFREI

Didn’t mean to scare you with the ambiguity there!

It’s the real deal.  :tu:

Would be so much cooler yet.  I shot the author a question regarding this to see what he thinks.  Thanks for the link McStitchy!

HAHA!  no worries..  Now I'm just really hoping I may have a rarity with a VSSR tang stamp for 1975.
