Hi all,

I'm here all the way from the great state of Texas.

I've owned various multitools starting with some of the cheap ones from hardware stores and the like. I also had a Leatherman Wingman that I liked a lot, but gifted it to my son.

Back in 2014, I purchased a Gerber Dime for a light duty pocket carry tool. I don't work it hard, but I use it often. I use every tool on it, but the bottle opener for the Coke made in Mexico (the stuff made with real sugar) is the best.

Accompanying the Dime is my flashlight. It's a Tank007 E09 twisty. Very, very bright on the high setting, yet tiny as it runs on a single AAA.  I have the Dime and the flashlight attached to a pocket hanger I made out of a metal picture hanger hook. It hangs on my pocket everyday without fail.

A couple of days ago I purchased a Gerber Suspension NXT. Before it even arrived, I had already started a list of mods.  As you can see, after removing the screws (lots of heat and finally two channel locks) I squared off two sides on each so I can use any pliers to remove them now.

I also smoothed off the rough edges on the frame, tightened the pocket clip and sharpened the end of the large flat screwdriver to use more as a pry bar.

Fits nicely clipped in my front pocket.

Thanks to this site, I adjusted the splay so my smallish hands can use the pliers much easier.

Now I am waiting for my new-to-me 25 year old lightly used ebay $27 purchase of a Gerber MP600 (not totally sure if that is the exact model) to arrive.

Here are some pictures from the ebay listing...

Thanks, good to be here! And thanks for the badge.

Thanks for noticing... the Dime and torch have taken on a personality of their own. There is not a rough edge left on the Dime thanks to the Tanker007 riding next to it for the past 6 years.

Its always nice to see tools with honest wear.  Over the years mine are getting more time in leather pouches as I've been dabbling in leather work.

I do a little bit of leather work, but just enough on personal projects. Nothing much, but it's fun.

I'm sure it a progression for many of us.  I'd imagine having horses you'd be more inclined with saddles and such.

True. Maybe what I was thinking is that I'm not one to create with leather, but to modify something made with it would be more me.

I can't leave ANYTHING stock.  :multi:
