Bumped! I've been looking for this article for advice on my GAK. The blade looks like it was sharpened with an alternator pulley. For a woods knife it's hard to beat, so slim and easy to pocket carry. I hope to have similar success getting mine repaired. Myron, would you mind giving me an approximate cost?
Yup, as Simyo suggested above, Vx only charged me postage. Mine came back like new with the correct GAK scales (and the old ones in a baggie). Such great customer service from Vx; I can't believe they can continue to do this in the age of eBay.
