I'm super frugal when it comes to cooking so my normal go-to is Beans and Rice/Quinoa (thank you Instapot!). I had a good chuckle at coworkers who normally survive on fastfood complain at how bored they were already of the items they bought 6+ months worth of as they had no idea how much they swell when cooking.

2 cups of beans and 1 1/3 cup of Quinoa will last me 5 nights and these people bought like 50+ pounds of each.

I offered to buy some off of them whenever this blows over and they can't stand to look at it anymore. Maybe I'll have to clue them into how to use spices and hot sauce to make it actually taste great.

Just got home from work to begin lockdiwn tonight . May get called out for essential service maintenance, but might finally get all the " round to it " jobs done 😁

Hey!

I live close to the A470 and the amount of traffic I still hear day long does worry me somewhat. I always keep some food stock at home, so we can hunker down pretty well. Just buying some fresh meat, fruit and veg regularly.

On other DIY news: several kilos of green coffee beans arrived on the post the other day. Now that cafes and roasters are closing down I'm probably helping distributors with their dwindling sales!

Hopefully we're all going to stay well and survive this disease.

Here in The Netherlands we still don't have a total lock-down, which is a wise decision, I think. But still restrictions are getting tighter each day.
If you ruin your economy, afterwards many more people will die because of an almost total lack of health care.

The fine folks here all decided to go to the beach since they are not working and the kids are out of school

. Crowds were seen not respecting the recommended distances between strangers. People just hanging out like a normal spring break.

I've seen more people walking the street in front of my home. The police are now patrolling the parks and beaches and a possible 1000 dollar fine can be issued. I haven't been to the store but long lines at DIY box stores were posted online. Costsco lines are still long but mostly due to limiting how many people can shop at a time. People are still not practicing social distancing in the lines outside however

Our Governor issued a Stay-at-home order last night, will see how people will react. So far the majority acted like nothing happened, but still bought everything they could get their hands on...

I made a run to the market yesterday and was really surprised to see people congregating in the parks, going for walks together, jogging as a pack....

I suspect that it will need to get worse before the penny drop for some.

Still working and doing everything I would normally do. No matter what I'll be working through this either way... and not to diminish anyone else's feelings, but I personally am not worrying about this. This too shall pass. I go to work, do what needs done, come home and down a couple brews and try not to think about it. I hope everyone here and all they know comes out the other side of this unharmed. Hopefully if nothing else, we gain very valuable knowledge that helps us for the next time. Be safe.
