buck 112 deep carry.
on: April 22, 2020, 06:08:58 AM
I have been thinking about this for a while. Finally had the time and went for it.

Grabbed brass buck 112, bought a 2mm tap and hex head screws to fit, and picked up a deep carry clip on eBay.

I think it woked out very well.

Cheers,
Armi101

:like:. Nice solution as opposed to sheath carry.

Ya I like the sheath. It's high quality. But when urban its not really suitable. However pocket clip is pretty unobtrusive, and no one really blinks an eye.

Sheath is great for woods. I threaded the brass so I can remove the clip if required.

So far I like it (only been a few hours) but the weight is not noticable. I will probably change the screws to button heads at a later date. But it works well as is.

Wouldn't changing it to button heads may snag/rub on the pants more?  :pok: :D

Very nice. I give you a lot of props, I’d be terrified to ruin a classic.

I checked a couple knives I have with deep clips. They are either button heads or, flared and recessed flush. I didn't recess the screws so they sit a touch high. It doesn't seem to snag, so I'll leave it for now. Plus the buttom heads I have are the wrong thread... oops.

Update

I noticed the clip seemed a little loose and noticed that 2 of the screws had backed off slightly so it wobbled. Removed the screws added loctite and all is well.

I think...I'm going to remove the buck 112lt from my EDC rotation. This will find a happy home.

Stay safe.
