Eventually got around to finishing this project.  :salute:

Trimmed off the duplicate keyring attachment, peened closed and added some traditional red scales.

Finished up as follows, 3 layers:

1. File
2. Inline Phillips, with both openers paired opposite
3. Scissors

On back; CS, awl, fine screwdriver, hook.

Not completely happy with the tension on the openers. A little light compared to a normal SAK, but I had no option otherwise together the backsprings make the Phillips too stiff. It all works OK but probably will remain a one-off.

I like it! Great work!  :like:

Any way to make an easier version of this? I still would love to have one without blade

Thanks Sir Vic.  :hatsoff:

Replacing the blade layer with a file is not too much trouble. But I would not do the double openers again.

If I did it over, I’d do an Explorer and put a file in the blade layer. But the donor will have to be a Ranger as it’s the smallest with a back tool on the spring that can be used for the CS. Alternatively, could remove the blade and saw layer from the Ranger to give you a 3 layer bladeless Mountaineer.  :tu:

Very cool SAK, even if it's a problematic once-off prototype!
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

It's possible to fit the corkscrew on the back of the scissor layer with bit of filing and bending of the spring to create clearance and extra spring tension.

Very nice.
Thanks 🆘, Don Pablo  :hatsoff:

Yes hiraethus, I’ve done that before with my 2 layer brass build. I moved the CS one over into the scissors layer and cut away some of the back spring so it closed probably. Makes a nice low-profile build.  :tu:
