Another LM Juice mod...
on: April 09, 2020, 01:38:11 PM
Thanks to the pandemic, we decided to strictly limit ourselves to the house voluntarily for more than 3 weeks now... no lockdown in our country yet...

But boredom is setting in... Out of the blue, I opened up my parts stash box... Found these...

What better way to be productive than to make something...

I sawed off one of the skeletal liner’s tab that forms the backsprings... unfortunately no pics...

Mockup and test fitting...

Will need to reprofile the blade with broken off tip...

Peened using the pins (stainless steel?) that came from a CS4...

Decided to go with  a lanyard ring at the last minute... its about the same thickness as the saw... also had to grind of the top portion of the awl a little(the part that sits above the handle) to allow for full opening since the lanyard ring was in the way... again no pics... sorry...

Mod done... Drawn inspiration from Victorinox Bushcrafter and the Juice B2...

Should I call this a Juice B3?

Here it is with my other juice mod... It’s an ex CS4... with similar tool set to the S2 minus the bottle/can opener...

Good to see you!  :waving:

:like: The end product looks really functional and great job on re-profiling the knife.

:like: I think one of the challenge with these are using back the rivets. They are usually bent and and out of shape. Peening back with those soft scales are also a slow and painful process...

Thanks Comis...

Agree with you Sam... luckily I have just enough straight pins... They’re also harder compared to brass pins... I just peened away with an 8oz. ball peen hammer slowly... I figured there’s nothing to loose since the soft alu scales aren’t perfect... lucky to come out with just a few more dings...

looks pretty good! Have you thought about polishing the scales? Removing the blue and just polish them so they are smooth and shinny?

I have been using M2 screws and round M2 brass standoffs as pivots for my Juice pivots as of late. They work very well!
