Slimming down a Pioneer X
on: April 23, 2020, 07:54:18 AM
Since i either carry minimalist and go with my Executive or Danish Bantam, or I go with a dedicated knife, I.e. Benchmade Griptilian or JE Made Lanny slip joint, I don’t need much else.

So for those days of carrying a bigger knife, I slimmed my beater Pioneer X down to just scissors and opener later.

Will see how that works out!

That’s a great mod zrxoa1  :like:
Also nice to carry as a bladeless option.

Like it, I think Victorinox should consider to make bladeless SAKs
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

Very nice mod. With that altered can opener it's a very versatile bit of kit.  :like:

Nice work but I gotta ask.....WHY?   You lost the 2 most useful tools. Not that thick anyway., Again... WHY?

Because I have other Pioneers and Pioneer Xs. I just wanted to play around.

Plus... as stated, I carry a dedicated knife so no need for the blade. And as much as I love that inline awl, I rarely ever use it.

I do use the scissors and screwdrivers a lot though.

Really great slimmed down mod, zrxoa :tu: :like:

You wouldn't happen to be wanting to get rid of that inline awl would you? :D

Nope. No way. Never gonna happen. Don’t hold your breath.

Haha

Nah, I’ll eventually get bored and put it back to full tool status. LOL

Told ya to wait until I got bored. Took the PX apart again tonight and played around. Ended up just putting it AWL back together. Back to a PX again.
