Wikipedia notes that “A Swiss roll, jelly roll (United States), roll cake, cream roll, roulade or Swiss log is a type of rolled sponge cake filled with whipped cream, jam, or icing. The origins of the term are unclear…”

These particular ones are chocolate cake and white icing rolled together, then coated with a thin layer of chocolate on the outside.  Regardless of the origin of the term, they are delicious.
