Absolute Power (1997)
9/10
Great action thriller. Clint Eastwood, Gene Hackman, Ed Harris, all on top form. Eastwood directed this as well, which I did not know. It must have been twenty years since I had last watched this.

Tightrope (1984)
8/10
I am on a Clint Eastwood movie watching spree. I had not seen this one before. Quite good.Detective Wes Block was a great character, I wish there were more movies with him.

Joe Kidd (1972)

5/10
Very underwhelming Eastwood western. Eastwood and John Saxon were not used to their full potential. I am surprised and honestly a little disappointed that Eastwood did not take over from the director as he usually does, because he would have delivered a much better film. Eastwood has done far better westerns, watch those before this one.

High Plains Drifter
8/10

The Outlaw Josey Wales
9/10

Hang 'Em High
9/10

Great times. If you want to watch a good western, you can't go wrong with those.

Dirty Harry
8/10

Magnum Force
9/10

The Enforcer
Currently watching it as I type this. :D

The action, the humor, the style. Good times.
Such nice movies. I'm binge-watching movies I haven't seen in a very long time. :like:

The Enforcer
6.5/10
This was ok, but I think I like all the others more.

Sudden Impact
8/10
Great. It reminded me of a Columbo episode.

The Dead Pool
7/10
Liam Neeson and Jim Carey are also in this. It is quite different when compared to other Dirty Harry movies, more humor, more cheesy, but a great deal of fun.

Two mules for Sister Sara
6/10
Ran out of steam halfway through. I did enjoy the banter between Hogan and Sara.

A very long time ago. Mystic River is on the list.

I am doing weights for 30 minutes, ideally three times a day, and watching something makes it a little easier.
I've also got The Sopranos on my watch list. :D

One of Eastwood's best films. I had forgotten how many big names are in it, and they all did a wonderful job.

Midway  7/10

Despite being a big Hollywood movie it wasn't too bad. The battle scenes were good although a little overdone/unrealistic in places. Thankfully not as cringeworthy as Pearl Harbour. It showed perspectives of both sides a little which was good.
Keeping track of who was who on Wikipedia helped although I was a bit more confused with regard to the Japanese command.

Jojo Rabbit  9/10

Silly at times but it's a good story that makes good points. In typical Taika Waititi fashion you're giggling along until he hits you with something heartwrenching.

John Wick  6/10

It was OK. I enjoyed much of the action. Some parts were a bit hard to believe.
It felt like it was missing something. I was entertained though.

Cosmic Sin
2/10

Even the props sucked, not just the plot and the acting of the side-characters.  I like Frank Morillo and seing Bruce Willis's name gave me hope for a decent scifi but...

The Sopranos - Season 1

Just finished watching the first season, for the first time. I had not seen any episode, or even a single scene before.

The characters are interesting, the main ones any way. I like the personal issues they go through.
The pacing is nice. It did not have a big start, but everything built up beautifully.
The performances are top notch and I was glad to see the child actors delivering as well.

I recommend this, the first season anyway. Watching the second season now. :D

I might watch that as I too haven't seen it.
I hadn't seen Breaking Bad either until last year.
I only got through one episode of The Walking Dead, it just didn't stick.

I just finished watching Band of Brothers again (which I have seen a few times) and am now halfway through The Pacific (which I haven't seen).

I watched The Walking Dead but lost interest many years ago, because every episode felt the same. It's still going on and even got a spin-off. Can't be bothered to be honest. There are a few recent series but it's a risk to invest into them only for them to be cancelled after a season or two.

I'll watch The Wire after I am done with The Sopranos.

The Mrs is watching the walking dead as I type, I lost interest waaay back, yet another show we started watching is from way back called NYPD Blues, and I must say it’s a great show! It’s from the 90’s and they get down and dirty, I mean sometimes it will have you laughing hard but some others you’ll be in tears!

The Pacific
I struggled to like any of the main characters (or should I say, the portrayal of the real people involved).
It got rather gruesome nearer the end.

The Sopranos - Season 3

I do not care for the Soprano kids story-lines. So boring. AJ is so uninteresting and he is so dumb it is frustrating. I guess the University episode was a call-back to College, but College was a far better episode.
The Dr Melfi thing was a little much. Bold move.
Pine Barrens was great. Chris even tried a bowdrill. I would not mind seeing Les Stroud taking a look at that one.

The Sopranos

Season 4
A few boring episodes, a few good ones too. I do not like the turn of Tony's and Carm's relationship. Junior's becoming a chore to watch. Adriana's story is interesting.

Season 5
Buscemi joined the cast. Nice. Adriana's story still good. Tony and Carm, still boring.

Season 6
Up to Episode 5. Nothing of note has happened. Quite a boring start for this season. I hope things pick up.

Becker

I'd been catching episodes on TV for years, and I always thought the show was ok. So I started watching. I'm halfway through Season 3. I've been enjoying it very much. I never see this show mentioned in top 10 lists. Scenes never pop up in my youtube feed. But I am glad I started watching it.

Army of the Dead

If you like a movie that insults your intelligence...this is the one for you. I mean, I was rooting for the zombies after seeing how stupid the various characters are.

Made in 2021 and on Netflix.

Hahaha :iagree: but I did quite enjoy it Chako. Dumb but fun

Didn’t need any of the character development as the were all a bit dim and I just wanted zombie action of which there was plenty. Could have been an hour shorter with just action and would’ve been better for it

I will admit that I’ve long maintained I have terrible taste in movies, if there’s no guns or car chases I’m not interested  do

I wrote music for TV for about 10 years and have many movie buff friends from the industry, they’ve given up on me :twak:

I can :drink: to that. I found this movie so frustrating...I found myself yelling at my TV a few times. You know you are watching the height of craft when they have the cast do stupid things to move the plot.

Case in point the helicopter scene at the end of the movie...yes I was rooting for the zombie. Anyone that dumb needs to be removed from the gene pool. Just saying.

We watched that “Army of the dead” last night because the Mrs is so into those zombies or horror movies and I made her watch that forest fire one and I HATE zombies and horror, so she’s like we’re watching it! I thought it was dumb, like you said I was kinda rooting for the zombie, that’s the one thing I hate about them you can call out all the points, like when she was lifting the money counter, or on you knew the old man had a little something for his daughter,, there was the only very last part which I won’t spill any beans cause they kinda made it where it’s possible to make a #2
