The Revenant (2015) - 8/10

I enjoyed it and could probably rate it higher if I watched it on something better than a laptop several metres away.

Fantastic dark humour horror film which also acts as a tribute to and satire of the 80' horror films.

Bloody Hell (2020)

Another dark humour horror film. Very entertaining.

Hunter Hunter (2020)
8/10
Good horror movie, great tension, very gory in places, and can get quite disturbing. I do not know if I'd recommend it. It was good, but I will not be watching it again soon.

This is one of the best films I have ever seen. Saoirse Ronan and Gemma Arterton are brilliant in this, their performances are magnificent and their chemistry is excellent. The plot, the characters, the dialogue, everything is flawless. Imdb's 6.5 is way too low for this. I do not want to spoil this, so I will not say more, but if you only watch one film of the many I have posted here, watch Byzantium.

Just watched The Descent on the horror channel. 7/10.

Ghostbusters  Afterlife a rare 10/10. A really satisfying movie.

Dune 3/10. The guy who smurfed up Blade Runner smurfs up Frank Herbert. Maybe better than the David Lynch movie, but at least his Harkoneans were ginger

What a waste of time. Even though this is based on the same book as the film Dagon, this has more similarities to Manos: The Hands of Fate. Absolutely terrible directing and acting, laughable special effects, and not a hint of subtlety. It takes itself so seriously, yet everything in it is ridiculous. Not entertaining in the slightest. There are many low budget horror movies worth watching. This is a dumpster fire. Not recommended.

Bad:
Both Caladan and House Atreides looked to dark and unhappy to me. House Atreides was so bad, I never felt like rooting for them and didn't care about the betrayal. I blame the dark knight trilogy for this, ever since Hollywood thinks that a film needs to be dark to be good. Me I wished they had a bit more flamboyant costumes, something that feels a bit more "alien".
What really was missing was the lore though, why there are no computers, what are Mentats, Bene Gesserit etc...
I think the Fremen where a bit short-cut and too much relegated to the background, on the other hand, they wasted time on irrelevant stuff like the Sardaukar.
The end was quite rushed
