We started watching the Jurassic series yesterday and did all the parks, so today we’ll try for all the worlds, I must say the kid bought the original but in 4k, thus why we started watching it, cause I must say you saw the diff when we watched the 2nd but just in blu-ray, it wasn’t as crisp..

Grizzly  1976, Giant bear movie.  I have seen it before.  Didn't notice that it was filmed about 20 miles from my house.  I thought I recognized some of those pine trees.  An okay movie.  I think I saw a cleaned-up TV version years ago.  Best wishes.  G

Strigoi  2009.  Strange semi-vampire or pseudo-zombie movie.  Hard to tell which.  It is weird, if you like weird.  Romanian.  Best wishes.  G

Number 24, 2024. A world war II movie about Gunnar Sønsteby and his work and experience as a resistance leader in Oslo throughout the war. Other movies have been made earlier about the actions of the same resistance cell, but this is the story from his perspective. The movie is less about action but more about spy and resistance work. Despite having become Gestapos most wanted Norwegian he managed to direct and do high profile resistance work throughout the war right under their noses. With a life like his the movie didn't have to make any artistic liberties, and it seems to stick closely to real life events.

In the movie there are some modern time questions to the aged agent from a class or something of students. To some extent the questions portray youth today as rather naïve, and avoids the more serious discussions about those themes. Some errors were likely made for instance, and while Gunnar might have quit his operations after the peace some other agents did not.

A rather bizarre tale related to the latter actually came up after Sean Connery and Ian McShane shot a movie in Norway in the 70s:

"Simple is hard"
"Hard is hard too"
(Partial disclosure: I design tools for a living).

Double Walker  2021.  Girl is given the choice of living one more day or being a ghost forever.  Time folds in on itself in this one and runs forward and backward.  Strange movie.  Best wishes.  G

Jennifer's Body  2009.  I don't like teens in school movies.  This one sounded like it might be smutty, but I watched it anyway.  Girl gets possessed and kills people.  To tell the truth, she was pretty evil to begin with.  Too rough for kids.  Best wishes.  G

Carrie  1976.  Why in the world is IMR watching teen movies, when he doesn't like them?  Beats me.  Stephen King.  I see there have been some remakes.  No thanks.  The original was enough.  Best wishes.  G

The Miracle Club starring Maggie Smith, Laura Linney and Kathy Bates.  The plot follows a group of working-class women from Dublin on a pilgrimage to Lourdes in France.  It was Smith's final movie before her death.  It streams on Netflix.

Powernoodle rating:  worth watching it is.

Five Million Years to Earth  1967.  Also billed as Quatermass and the Pit.  Well-made British sci-fi horror.  I watched the movie (color) and five trailers/promo videos for it.  I saw it years ago.  If you like the genre, it is a don't miss.  Best wishes.  G

The Shining  1980.  The U Toobers who do reaction videos say this thing is the most terrifying movie ever.  I saw it sometime after it came out and didn't think it was scary.  Decided to do a re-watch.  It still isn't scary but is an excellent watch anyway.  Best wishes.  G

The Necromancer  2018. British deserters from Wellington's army go walking through the woods.  Then they walk through the woods and finally do some walking through the woods.  The movie script was one page.  It instructed the actors to walk through the woods.  Best wishes. G

You know, Antti, movies almost always portray woods as something menacing.  A cousin brought his wife for a visit years ago.  She had never lived a day outside of a city.  The young woman was scared out of her wits.  She told her husband that this was a dangerous neighborhood.  There were no streetlights.

The Reptile  1966. Hammer Studios.  They always did a great job with horror.  Once you read the title and watch the first 5 minutes of this one, you know all about it.  Not really a complex plot but good acting and beautiful surroundings.  Best wishes.  G

300 Rise of an Empire  2013   I would watch part of the movie and lose interest.  Then I would go back and watch some more.  I finally watched it all.  I don't like Swords and Sandals movies.  The end with animation and 'War Pigs' was good.  Best wishes.  G

From Dusk to Dawn  1996.  It was only in the last scene that I recalled watching this movie before.  Not too memorable.  Looking for a good family movie to watch?  This one isn't it.  Gory vampire action.  Best wishes.  G

Omen 2
Damien: Omen II is a 1978 supernatural horror film directed by Don Taylor. It is the sequel to The Omen, and the second installment of The Omen series.  Great sequel to the first Omen.

I first saw this at a drive in movie theater. Had a playground in front right by the screen. You could look up and watch (the devil ) while playing as a kid.  ::) ::) >:D

Jacob's Ladder  1990.  I saw the one with Tim Robbins.  I think there is a re-make.  Very convoluted plot.  Viet Nam war veteran goes from one crisis to another.  Or does he?  Best wishes.  G
