Cassie went into heat   :ahhh   She's scheduled to be fixed Oct. 13th I hope this won't delay it. Never had  a dog that went into heat before so I'm reading up on it.

Make absolutely sure no entire male dogs can get to her (and sometimes they can be surprisingly resourceful in their efforts to mate with a bitch in season).  IIRC some (most?) vets prefer to wait a while before spaying (due to the increased blood flow in the organs being cut out).  It can be a bit messy for a while, so towels on couches etc.

Just talked to my vet and we have rescheduled her procedure till November 19th for the reason you cited.

Yeah, we had to wait 2-3 months after Molly's first season before she got her op.

Restricted to on lead walks only and kept away from popular dog areas for a few weeks was the advice we took.  :-\

Poor Molly has had an irritation on her rear foot that she has licked at so heavily over night she has taken the hair off and made things worse. 

Trip to the vet for some cream to be applied once a day and a sock firmly taped in place to stop her getting to it again.  Hopefully no more than a week.

Molly is less than please about the situation.  ;)

Yeah I know, she’s always had that look, she’s always wanted more kids, two was my number hers was more like four, but unfortunately with the problems she had with both kids the doc told her to have them tied! But then she had more problems and she had other surgeries, so it’s a 100% never again thing,, heck she’s even talked about adoption, if not even fostering,,
