Jet (our 9 year old Border Collie) isn't a particularly smart dog, but he has figured out if he gives us a bit of  hint about what he wants he will get it much sooner.  eg if he wants to lick out a used saucepan or frying pan he will come up to us and look back towards the kitchen where said object of desire is located.  If we are too slow to take the hint he may give us a hurry-up "wuff !" or two.  If he needs us to retrieve a ball from under a couch (usually where he put it while trying to engage us in a game of fetch) he will lie down with his head pointing towards where the ball is.

I guess he is smart enough to get us to do what he wants, but he is such a nice dog we don't mind being manipulated.

Whereas I suspect Molly is in fact psychic...and incredibly frustrated that I'm not.  ;)  Eventually she gives up her attempt at interspecies first contact and sits next to the thing that she wants.  ::)

Got the fuzzies a new toy, the other day we, well I filled it with loose snow so they could have a go and this little guy liked it, the other one ha no, as fast as the Mrs dropped him in the box he was out of the box, so another little thing their known for is digging and rice is something good for them to dig in, so we bought a 20# bag and loaded up the tote and dropped them in, the one, ahh, but this little guy seems to like it, sometimes he goes wack! So I’m going to have to put a hole so we can close the top and he can go nuts without flinging rice!

I've put in an order for a Doberman puppy.  It's been 9 years since we've had a puppy, so It will be quite a shock to the system (I'm not looking forward to the damage those super sharp baby teeth can inflict).

I'm sure it will be lots of fun  :D
