Ranger Grip 55 mod questions

Hi,

Been thinking of the RG55 but I had planned removing the opener layer which I don't particularly need in an outdoors tool. I then thought of swapping the bottle opener for a small blade from a 91mm or even the main blade from an 84mm if it will fit. That would preserve the corkscrew which I use for knots and not leave an empty gap in the handle.

Any thoughts? I've never seen people modding the big stuff, what size pins would I need, would these smaller blades interact with the spring, etc?

Hi,

All pins are 2.5 mm. You can use brass. The main blade's pin is stainless steel from factory. For the blades I don't know but the shape of the springs is not the same, nor the thickness.
