I*XL SAK?

Picked this up and looking for info.  Openers are old style can opener and bottle opener/screwdriver.  Spline is thicker but blade is nicely hollow ground and thins out well.  Markings as shown in pictures.  Blade is centered on the knife and is straight.  Steel seems harder than Vic but sharpens up nicely.  Scales seem to be polished nylon.  Has anyone bumped into one of these before, unable to find anything on Google.    :cheers:

Start a new thread and post a photo of your gear for thirty (30) consecutive days. You must carry at least one item from every category of the gear list every day. Participate in a challenge by carrying  a Combo Edged knife or Multitool and post a photo of it  for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participate in a Challenge thread and post a photo of a SAK-alike, aka multi-layered, knife-based pocket tools for thirty (30) consecutive days. The IXL brand has changed hands many, many times in the last 25 or so years.  Original old IXL, Rodgers Wostenholm, Schrade Wostenholm, Parker knives, Eddington group and now who knows? May never find out the actual maker of this knife. I did find one pruner with saw in the same mounts and tang marks, but no other info.

Eggington Group, which Wostenholm is part of, doesn't have the tools for that sort of knife anymore. Neither would they sell enough to warrant replacing the tooling. They just buy them in with the IXL logo on, I believe from one of the companies in Solingen.

I don't think Wostenholm have made their own such knife since the 60's or 70's.

Thanks everyone, knew it was a SAK-alike but the Sheffield, England was a puzzle.  Especially since I can’t find any pictures, advertising or stock anywhere.  May be older than I think.  In any event, I only have $10 in it and the hollow ground blade is worth that.  Maybe I’ll sharpen at a steeper angle and turn it into a SAR (Swiss Army Razor) 🤪  :rofl:   :cheers:
