Leatherman Clean Contact Carabiner?

On the product page for the Free pocket clip and lanyard ring, it mentions that it is compatible with the "Clean Contact Carabiner".  :think: Has anyone seen this before? There is a link but it takes you to the "oops" page on Leatherman's website. Any intel on what the Clean Contact Carabiner is? Is Leatherman making a COVID19 tool?  :rofl: But seriously, I have seen little tools that are intended to be used to press buttons instead of using your germy fingers. Maybe a LM version?

Kinda wondering what they will be doing different than the hundreds of tools that are out there with the description.
Hope it is not something stupid like the attached thingy... I mean how do you use the box opener, if you don't want to touch the "contaminated" part?

Well for one thing, the Leatherman version will have a pocket clip. And not just any pocket clip - the best pocket clip ever! It'll probably have a grey sheath, too, just so everyone knows its the best pocket clip ever  :rofl:

Will the Bond and the Curl be aimed over or under the Free T/K series?
 By the description, they seem to be similar, and competitors to, Gerber's Armbar/Curve series.

It is an interesting concept :cheers: but I can't see paying that price for something like that :think: :shrug: Perhaps in the $12-$15 range but $25 seems a bit much :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh

So this is exactly what I expected it to be when we discovered it. This is an easy one for Leatherman. Simple tool to punch out, probably costs next to nothing to produce (or procure) and with uncertainty about the COVID 19 crisis, this preys upon people's fear just enough that it could sell well. I think the price is too high but street price will probably end up a bit lower than advertised.

I was interested in this (I've been after a decent but reasonably priced non contact tool) and it's apparently only available in the US, Austria and Germany?

I could see them being very useful in certain instances but I still don't think it is worth that price :dunno: :D
