That's fantastic Steve.  I do love a smaller knife.

I think this is my lot ATM.  While I'm still very much a fan of a spearpoint I think I do at least have to admit to a fondness for a straight edge.

I'm a huge fan of the wharncliffe and sheepsfoot blade styles, I've always felt like you get better control of the blade with them, amd the design seems stronger than a clip point design. So far for modern flippers I've got my schrade slyte and the gerber fastball folding cleaver. The schrade has been a fantastic blade, and the D2 steel holds an outstanding edge

I am with you Spartan on the Wharncliffe blade.   It makes a great work knife for the reason given control.

For modern designs, a flipper, I think a TANTO, fills multi purposes.  A good strong blade, with a point, a short edge on the front for scraping and fine cutting.
Then the intersection of the short edge and main edge, very good work use, as cutting patterns or seperating coupons🙄. Then the main blade for slicing and other blade uses.

Sheeps and lamb foot blades are great for slicing, thicker blade material for hardy cutting action like intended.  Shaping the hoofs of your sheep herd.

Spear point and drop point still good all around knife blades, fixed models for bushcraft and game cleaning.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!
