The scissors spring is not strong enough to open the blades all the way, because they are a little tight near the pivot, so there is a centimeter of overlap that I cannot use. Is this normal? Will it get better over time? Or should I send it back?

Same with the two Farmer X's and Super Tinker here on my desk. I think that's where they're supposed to settle to when you slowly release them so the handle isn't too high up and to improve the cutting due to the more acute angle.

Most of my cuts are a single snip anyways, but you can always deliberately open them wider for a longer cut (by lifting or just letting it hard release from fully compressed).

Absolutely, loose scissors can be frustrating to use.

Also, if you're cutting something like paper or cardboard where you might want longer cuts with each snip, pushing the scissors into the material will open the scissors wider.   :cheers:

I want blue or green, will settle for red at a pinch.

Hopefully I'll be able to get a nice blue one, just like my Pioneer.

All the 93mm alox, including the standard Farmer, are in the 'Medium' pocket knives category on the Victorinox website...

... Except the Farmer X is in the 'Large' category.   :think:

Just got nothing to do besides go out and shovel 3” of snow, but I got it! I was kinda amazed with the sheath, I’ve bought like 6 of those and there’s always something a little off, but this one is like SPOT on! Just needs to be worked in, even the little guy went to take the farmerx out to have a look then slid it back into the sheath and and said “wow, that’s like smooth but not tight, that needs to be worked in”!  :facepalm: Here’s a 16yr old who never leaves the house and has already grad from high school and I almost lost it :rofl:
