Sorry to hear that, SurgeUK - fingers crossed for Monday (I’m also expecting a delivery then - I’ll show it on the MTO Unleashed! challenge then)!! :tu:

Mine arrived today, and it’s not as bulky as I feared....
FFS! I give up  :surrender:

I've just checked the tracking ID thing again and now it's tomorrow (in about an hour it's got from Germany to the UK)

I'm not complaining (well, I am, aren't I  )

Is it  :woohoo: or  :ahhh
Watch this space...
They don't like it up 'em!

It is from Nelson Custom Works and he does have some nice ones.  I have been tempted by a few others.
A few months ago, I caved and bought a Huntsman with stainless steel scales...and almost immediately found out a Farmer X was coming. That Huntsman is totally bombproof, though, so it replaced the beat up Deluxe Tinker in my construction bag.

Definitely want to join. I love my Farmer, and my Fieldmaster, and wished for a Farmer X long before its release. Though I am very attached to the D.Tinker pliers, so we'll see. I bet by the time I get a Farmer X they'll release another one with pliers.
I may not carry them these days, but I have developed an appreciation for those little Victorinox pliers.

I remember you, Jothra.
I've stumbled upon your challenge threads long ago, and will go through them tonight.
We have badges for 30 day challenges now. And for a bunch of other stuff. :D
I think you could qualify for a badge or two.  :pok:
Very nice to see you posting again.  :salute:
Curses! You've seen through my fedora and Groucho glasses!

The 93mm awl makes a good staple puller.
A better staple puller is remembering not to tell the copier to use staples in the first place.

Am I missing something? Because that looks like a Woodsman.

Edit: That's an XLT? That's quite the Myspace angle on that one.

That is a XLT posing as a Farmer X.

Next week I'm gonna get the real thing.

That Huntsman still lives on my computer desk, and handles the odd light duty in its retirement. A deal's a deal, after all.

That experiment is what really cemented the Huntsman/ Outrider/ Farmer X toolset for me. I've tried other layouts many times, but I've always ended up back eventually.

Well, it's finally here  :mail: :woohoo:

I took a few pics of it with some of it's cousins, to aid any comparisons wanted by others  :dunno:

It was also a good excuse to get some of them out  ;) (leaving the double entendre there for you know who  )

So, without further ado, here's some shots of the FX with the Farmer, PX, Pioneer, Cadet and Mini-Champ.

Still room for a Cadet X though Vic'   :pok:

It’s chunky, but still thinner than the Huntsman I carried daily for over a decade. I approve.

Got my Farmer X together with the rest of the Huntsman/Fieldmaster family for a little reunion photo.
My first impression is that it is a solid heavy chunk of a SAK. I find that the nail nick is much more accessible vs my Pioneer X. I am quite happy with it so far.

My external hard drive — which is my main music storage drive — stopped working. Based on cord-wiggling and the like, I determined that it was likely a problem with the power port. I had heard external drives are often just regular hard drives stuck in a fancy casing, so I decided to find out by taking apart the housing. After all, the worst case scenario was buying another drive and copying all the FLAC files to it from my portable music player (Sony A35). The best case scenario was installing it as a second internal hard drive.

After a bunch of prying and a few Phillips screws, I found a completely normal HDD. So...best case. Thanks, Farmer X!

I couldn't get a camera under my truck seat (plus it was midnight), but I used the awl to poke a release so I could unplug and firmly reattach a cable connection.

Good news: that wiggly connection was the reason for the airbag warning light. Instead of an expensive repair, the problem needed a cost-free fix. Whew!

I want a Farmer X badly, but I would really like a version in color. Almost any color would be fine, honestly.

Used this earlier in the MTO Unleashed challenge.  It was originally scheduled for Friday delivery, better late than never.

Parasaurolophus walkeri in glorious Paper-O-Vision!

So majestic!

It's a lot easier to get the forelegs and crest right with tiny scissors.
