Leatherman Style ES4 with bonus.
on: May 31, 2020, 07:05:50 PM
Its me again!

Style CS with the scissors replaced with the ES4 wire stripper. I filed down the first notch for the as its really too small to strip anything and gained a little more gripping area. Smoothed out the gripping teeth as there are really aggressive and chews up anything I grab with it. The keyring is just an extension of the handle. Easier to hold and maneuver.

And..... changed out the blade. Donor is a Juice. Same pivot size, tang profile close enough. The rest are standard and I like them as they are.

Here's the bonus. The blade is oho and locks by a liner.

And, this is the little guy in action.

Very cool, but how strong is that liner?

Its very decent. More than adequate for light duty task. In the video, I slap the spine of the blade several times to demo the blade doesn't collapse.

Thanks RP.  :hatsoff:

I did a little more changes to the little blade. Add some jimping for more friction. Funny how it turned out from the original blade. After all the reprofiling, I am pretty sure I have messed up the heat treat. But its a small blade, as long as I can open my pack of chips and open boxes and packages when I need to, I am happy enough.  :)

What did you use to make the liner lock from? Was it an adaptation from another knife or made from scratch?

I remembered it was a frame from an old busted P4. Just cut and bent to fit.
