Anyone handle commissions?
on: June 01, 2020, 07:20:59 PM
Hi! I was directed to this forum from reddit. I’ve done a little modding, but I’m in over my head on this one and I’d like to commission the help of someone more qualified.

I have eight white Spartan Swiss Army knives. I’d like to replace two tools with two keys on each one. It’s important to me that they fit snugly and have the spring ‘snap’ of a traditional tool. Can anyone help me with this or direct me to someone who could help? Thanks all!

I can’t do the mod, but I can help walk you through it.  First you will have to find a tool that is a similar thickness as your key.  If your key is slightly thinner you can always add a washer to compensate for the thickness.  Once you have the spring selected you will want to use the tang of your tool as a template to match on the key and then reshape it to match and this will give you that smooth sak action.  I would recommend getting a couple copies made up prior to this and make sure the key tang is solid and smooth as possible.
