So here's what I ended up getting.
Press fit lid, so we'll see how reliable that is, and no seal so not remotely liquid/leak resistant. Cheap though, I think they were $8 each (the next cheapest option was around $35)
I didn't keep the packaging, but I imagine I can reliably say they were made in china buy some underpaid worker, in unsafe conditions, using materials that were dug on up one side of the world, shipped across-planet, manufactured into the end product, then shipped back across planet to sell the consumer. All for $8!
Still hopefully being stainless steel, they can put my ashes in them when I die or something - as opposed to the plastic containers I have to replace every year or so when they become stained, or cracked, or split, or warped, etc etc.
165mm long 120mm wide 50mm deep (about 1L)
No good for curries, but might be okay for salads or sandwiches.
