Thanks LM123, that's a cool awl mod.If I had access to a bench grinder I'd have a go myself.My main reason for an awl is that I often fence off paddocks for livestock with electric fence wires/ropes.A long awl would make a good pilot hole in posts and the odd dead tree.I was considering the Surge today on the merit of it's awl and bigger scissors.....don't like the saw though....saw blades need teeth the whole length IMO.
