The Move Conundrum - Which tools to keep?

First off, good luck with the move... planning one myself in March, though mine is only 500 meter

Definitively #1: Having separate pliers and bit driver gives you the option of holding the nut while using the bit-driver. Never liked having the bit-driver incorporated into the MT.

Once we are at our new location we will get an inflatable air mattress to sleep on. As long as you have enough blankets,  it is ok to stay warm on them.

The kitchen we go to has a stove and fridge, so we will just buy a rudimentary set of pots, pans and silverware and we are good to go on the food side. We won't ship some of our old stuff, so we can still cook here. 

It feels a bit like a weird camping trip, but it is doable. Not our first time doing this either

I came to the same conclusion, so today I went through my tools. I found some lower quality ones I have not used in a while (maybe because i had no idea they were there  ). They are good enough to get some work done should I need it. Got some screwdrivers, locking pliers, a hammer and a few wrenches.

Together with a SAK i feel confident i can handle last minute repairs.

I think this is a good option.  You're going to have a lot of stress to begin with and don't want your tools to add to that stress.  It makes sense to keep some lower quality (almost disposable) ones that you can keep to get work the necessary work done.  Whatever happens to those happens.  On the other end you can have your good tools shipped ahead.  In the in-between, a SAK or your MP will do 80% of the jobs and that can stay in your pocket or checked luggage.
