New Guy and His Victorinox SAK Collection
on: July 04, 2020, 05:12:50 AM
Well, I'm new and this is my first post, so , I thought I would post a photo of my Vic SAKs. Most were purchased used. There is a Soldier, a Pioneer, a Cadet, a Climber, a Super Tinker, a Tinker, two Campers, a Spartan, a Tourist, a Sportsman, an Executive, a Nail Clip and two Classics.
I started out with a Classic on my key ring and either a Tinker then a Super Tinker in my pocket. Lately I have been carrying a Climber at work (wanted the mini screwdriver in the corkscrew) and a newly acquired Cadet after work while I'm wearing sweats. The Classic is always on the key ring.
I tried some four- and five-layer models but decided I didn't want to carry them and sold them.
I really like the red alox of the cadet and think it should be the standard alox color. YMMV.

Nice collection. The simplest Classic got it right packing a lot of functionality in a very small package.

As for the collection warning. You will know you are there when you start feeling remorse for selling or giving away your largest SAKs.

Welcome to the forums.  :hatsoff:

Post a pic of the Classic, the Climber or the Cadet (or all three) in the SAKnights thread, take the oath - and thou shalt be knighted!

Welcome!

Alox Soldier, Camper, Tourist, Sportsman, Classic (I prefer the Rambler)... a fellow after my own heart. I don't like to carry more than three layers either.

I had a Huntsman, a Fieldmaster, a Deluxe Tinker and a Ranger but decided they were all just more than I wanted to carry. One day I may try a Compact if I can find one worth the money.

Personally, if I'm going to pocket carry anything thicker than a Camper, it may as well include the kitchen sink and be a Swisschamp. I haven't done that very often!

The Compact was my first SAK, and look where it got me. Now i've got around 150 SAKs and an empty bank account

Well at least I never have to sharpen a SAK anymore for the rest of my life  ::)
