Can anyone tell me anything about this SAK?
on: August 09, 2020, 05:03:08 PM
I bought this in Switzerland at a store that specializes in these knives around 1994 and have never seen another like it. It says Officer Suisse on the main blade. Any info would be greatly appreciated. What value?

I assume, it's a Huntsman with horn scales.
Very rare one

Beautiful knife. Looks like the tweezer tip is metal? A nice touch if it is. I think Vic stopped making regular aluminium tipped tweezers in the late 70s-early 80s.

I hope the toothpick isn't ivory, though! I think I read they once were, way back in the early days.

It’s ‘90s production. I see the hook. And aluminum tweezer tips were used way later for horn scale models.

I don’t know if there was a name for this model at this time. I think there’s a number for it in the wiki.

As for value...I think on a good day with a good listing and pictures, it would fetch over $100 USD. Assuming it’s unused as it looks with all the tools closed. Less, of course, if there’s any damage or visible signs of use.

Hi kbf,

When asking questions like this - It is a great idea to show images of all the tools open and tang stamps etc
- Rather than just a picture of a closed up knife - As the tools/stamps give all sorts of clues on model/age etc  :pok:

Anyway given the date you bought it, and KK's eagle eyes and detail - I think he has nailed it    :salute:
(I managed to spot the hook second time around!)   ;)

EDIT PS: The stamp 4.0520.3 on the pouch is the product code for the pouch
The product code for the Huntsman is most likely 1.3713.61  (from SAKWiki.com - Thanks KK)
